CVS Classic: What they're saying after Day 1

Here are some quotes from the post-round media sessions:

Billy Andrade on having legend Lee Trevino here for the first time:
What I love is seeing him back in his element. This is what he was born to do his whole life is play golf. Seeing his cameraderie with the players this morning...it was so great to watch him from a distance on the putting green, talking to everyone and playing (around). When I called him on a phone I was in the parking lot of a store in Atlanta, talking to him about his kids and lacrosse, and he said, 'you know, I've watched your tournament for eight years,' and that to me was wow.

Chris DiMarco on playing with fellow Florida Gator Camilo Villegas:
I'm a lot older than him. He could almost be my kid. He lives in Gainesville, his brother's still on the golf team, and I'm a big Gator fan so we have a lot in common.

Juli Inkster on the play of she and teammate Natalie Gulbis:
If we just made some putts we could have played really well today. Natalie played well today, she made 3 or 4 birdies; I only made one. We just have to get some putts to drop. But we had a lot of fun. Even though it's about winning, it's also about showcasing women's golf and the bottom line is what they raise for charity.

Natalie Gulbis, on being sartorially upstaged by Brett and Dana Quigley's matching pink ensembles:
We were really upset. We thought we did pretty good and we were definitely outdressed. We'll have to come up with something tomorrow.

Lee Trevino on R.I. Country Club and his dislike of the modern golf course:
It's not hard to be yourself and to enjoy yourself when you're playing something like this. When you like the facility and you like the golf course, it's enjoyable. Thats why I'm quitting -- this stuff that we're playing today. Rounds of golf are declining and the reason is because they're discouraged. They're too expensive. Golf is going back like it was in the 50s if they're not careful. This is absolutely a jewel. I've never seen a Donald Ross course go broke. All these modern courses go broke and why? They're too difficult. I love playing stuff like this. I have a ball. I can't wait for the next hole. I can't wait for tomorrow. This is the type of course that you come in and you have a glass of tea and a sandwich and if there's still daylight you want to go out and play some more.
