Patrick Sheehan remains in first at Nationwide event
Patrick Sheehan stayed atop the leaderboard Saturday at the Nationwide Tour’s Melwood Prince George’s County Open in Mitchellville, Md., as the Warwick native shot a 4-under par 68.
Sheehan, who is at 13-under par, is tied with Paul Claxton and Jaco Van Zyl heading into today’s final round.
Sheehan, who flirted with another bogey-free round, birdied the first, sixth and seventh holes en route to a 33 on the front nine.
Birdies on the 10th and 15th holes opened up a two-shot lead but Sheehan bogeyed the par-4 17th and made par on the 18th to finish the back-nine at 1-under and in a three-way tie for first.
