Northeast Surfing Contest Schedule
2007 South New England Schedule
Eastern Surfing Association Contests and Clinics Please note that competitors must surf in at least 50% of their district contests, during a season, to be eligible to qualify for the Northeast Regional Surf-Offs. All contest dates are tentative, based on the surf and weather. There are only three accurate sources of updated information regarding our ESA contests. They are the ESA Hotline phone number of 401.727.2605, our website www.sne.surfesa.org, or any email you receive from
our Assistant District Director, Christine Chabot. Contest surf updates
are always on the Friday night before the scheduled contest date. Please call the ESA Hotline after 6:00 PM at that time. You may also go to the website, which is not always updated, and you will always receive an email update from Christine, as well.
All contests are beach entries only. Entry fee is $20.00 unless otherwise noted. Competitors must be members of the ESA, and can join on the beach.
Signups generally run from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM, with the competition
beginning at 11:30 AM. There are no set times for contest conclusion,
which varies due to the amount of contestants and surf conditions.
May 26- Massachusetts Open Championships to be held at Nantasket
Beach, Hull, Massachusetts.
June 10- Annual New England Longboard Classic, to be held at
Nantasket Beach, in Hull, Massachusetts. *longboard rating
points only
June 23- Narragansett Championships, to be held at the Narragansett
Beach or vicinity, in Narragansett, Rhode Island
July 4- Annual Professional Longboard Association East Coast
Surfing Championships, to be held at the Narragansett Town
Beach, in Narragansett, Rhode Island. *rating points in all
divisions
July 7- Annual Bic Sport Surfboards/ESA Free “Learn to Surf” Clinic
at Narragansett Town Beach. Signups in advance at Gansett
Juice Surf Shop, or by email at bicsurf@hotmail.com.
July 14- Cape Cod Surfing Championships Round #1- to be held at
Whitecrest Beach, in Eastham, Massachusetts
Aug. 11- Cape Cod Surfing Championships Round #2- to be held at
Whitecrest Beach, in Eastham, Massachusetts
Aug. 18- Rhode Island State Championships, to be held at either
Scarborough State Beach or the Narragansett Town Beach, in
Narragansett, Rhode Island.
Sept. 1- Annual Labor Day Beach Games, to be held at the Narragansett
Town Beach, in Narragansett, Rhode Island
Sept. 16- East Coast Surfing Championships Grand Finals, to be held at
Cape Hatteras, North Carolina. *invitation only based on
regionals results
Oct. 6- Annual Surfrider Foundation Team Challenge, to be held at
Nantasket Beach, Massachusetts. *all competitors will receive
200 points in their ESA competive categories for participation
Oct. 20- Annual Northeast Surfing Championships, to be held at a site to
be determined anywhere within the district boundaries.
Nov. 24- Annual Holiday Surfabout, to be held at the best breaking surf
spot in Narragansett, Rhode Island. Final contest of the season
