Report: Celts will bid Telfair adieu
The Boston Globe is reporting that the Celtics will sever ties with guard Sebastian Telfair.
Telfair had a disappointing first season with the Celtics; his playing time decreased as Boston used more of Rajon Rondo. Then, on Friday, Telfair was arrested in Yonkers, N.Y. The police reported that Telfair was speeding on the Bronx River Parkway, that he had a suspended driver's license and that they found a loaded handgun in the car.
He and a passenger have been charged with felony second-degree possession of a weapon.
Two Globe reporters received an e-mail from Celtics managing partner Wyc Grousbeck saying that Telfair's career in green is at an end, the newspaper reports. Telfair averaged 6.1 points, 2.8 assists and 20.2 minutes per game.
