Former St. Raphael golfer leads Southern Conference Championships
Wofford freshman and former St. Raphael standout Garrett Medeiros shot a career-best tying 4-under par 68 to take a one-stroke lead after the first round of the Southern Conference golf championships in Florence, S.C.
Medeiros, of Rumford, is one of six players under par after the first 18 holes. His 68 equaled his low round which he shot during the final round of the Presbyterian College Intercollegiate back on Feb. 20.
The tournament is a three-day event.
