PawSox sloppy in 5-1 loss to Red Wings
Scott White’s RBI double in the seventh inning helped the PawSox avoid a shutout as they dropped a 5-1 decision Thursday to Rochester in Fort Meyers.
Devern Hansack gave up five runs in five innings of work, only two of them earned, while Edgar Martinez, Bryan Corey, Craig Breslow and Craig Hansen all pitched an inning and held the Red wings in check the rest of the way.
Pawtucket was its own worst enemy, committing four errors on the afternoon while leaving 12 men on base.
Luis Jimenez continued on a tear, hitting a single and a double yesterday, giving him eight hits over the last three games. Second baseman David Bacari also had two hits in the loss.
Friday is an off day for the PawSox as they get ready for the spring finale Saturday against Rochester in Lee County.
