Red Wings 13, PawSox 3
FORT MYERS, Fla. — John Lester was touched up for two runs in the first and two more in the as the Pawtucket Red Sox dropped a 13-3 decision to the Rochester Red Wings yesterday.
Lester gave up four hits, two walks and struck out four through three innings of work. Abe Alvarez came on in the fourth and allowed a run on three hits in three innings. Rob Henkel pitched the seventh and eighth, surrendering three hits and two runs. Justin Sturge was tagged for six runs in the ninth.
Doug Mirabelli hit a solo home run in the second and Ryan Khourey had an RBI single in the sixth. The other PawSox run came home in the seventh on a wild pitch.
Pawtucket will face the Indianapolis Indians (Pittsburgh) today at Bradenton, Fla.
