Lester shaky in PawSox 9-6 victory
Jon Lester was shaky in his three innings of work but Pawtucket’s offense pounded out 14 hits as the PawSox outslugged the Rochester Red Wings, 9-6, yesterday in Fort Myers, Fla.
Lester pitched the first three innings, allowed three hits and three runs. He walked two and struck out one. Abe Alvarez earned the win, but was also shaky. Alvarez went four innings, giving up seven hits and three runs. Edgar Martinez picked up the save, pitching two scoreless innings.
Luis Jimenez led the Pawtucket offense with two hits and three RBI. Chad Spann had two hits and two RBI and Wily Mo Pena belted a two-run homer.
