Cindy Sheehan of Vacaville Calif.,confronts McLennan County chief deputy Randy Plemons while attempting to see President Bush at his ranch in Crawford, Texas, today. Sheehan's son, Army Specialist Casey A. Sheehan, a Humvee mechanic, was killed April 24, 2004, in Sadr City, Iraq.

CRAWFORD, Texas (Reuters) - About 70 anti-war protesters shouted "bring the troops home" from Iraq near President Bush's ranch on Saturday, prompting two White House officials to come out to meet with mothers who lost children in combat in Iraq.
National Security Adviser Steven Hadley and Deputy White House chief of staff Joe Hagin listened to the concerns of Cindy Sheehan and five or six other mothers in a meeting that lasted about 45 minutes, White

House spokesman Trent Duffy said. Duffy said Sheehan told the two officials she appreciated the meeting.

"I want to ask the president, why did you kill my son? What did my son die for?" Sheehan, 48, Vacaville, California, told reporters before meeting with Hadley and Hagin. Sheehan blames Bush for the death of her son, Army Specialist Casey Sheehan, 24, killed on April 4, 2004, in Sadr City, Baghdad.

The protest coincided with release of a Newsweek poll that said 61 percent of Americans disapproved of the way Bush was handling the situation in Iraq. The poll came after more than two dozen Americans were killed in the past week in Iraq....

Why Iraq:

Let's talk about texas and then the entire u.s. with auto safety.

The entire u.s. has a safety light installed on all vehicles, mandatory since 1985, the chmsl (center high mounted stop lamp.

BUT WHEN YOU GO F0R YOUR SAFETY INSPECTION IN TEXAS THEY DO NOT CARE IF THE LIGHT DOES NOT FUNCTION....

I was a Navy carrier pilot in WW 11, To protect my Country . Bush ,,our Commander , did not kill Sheehans son, the war killed this brave serviceman . His mother should be ashamed , when you join the Service there IS the chance of being killied or wounded . The mother should not tarnish her sons name ,, he joined the Army to serve his country ,,remember him as a hero .

Mr. Whiteley is correct when he says that Mrs. Sheehan's son enlisted to serve and fight for his country, but he's wrong as to where it concerns Bush. He lied to the american people and congress about Iraq having WMD's, they knew that going in. Unlike WWII, where he and others fought a "real" war with a "real threat," these soldiers have been lied to. So,I applaud Mrs. Sheehan, as a matter of fact, more people should be storming Crawford,TX and the White House to demand that we stop this "illegal" war. World War II wasn't illegal, and we didn't break International Law by invading a sovereign country. The U.S. was never attacked by Saddam Hussein,we were attacked by our allies who the Bush's love so well and their relationship goes back to their grandparents..the Saudis...I guess some people forgot, that on September 11,2001 our homeland was attacked by 15 out 19 terrorists which had direct ties to Saudi Arabia, yet we never attacked them...ask yourself why, especially you Mr.Whiteley, before you go attacking a distraught mother who had the guts to want to confront her sons killer...Bush!
