Providence, Rhode Island is partly responsible for the food problem in World.. So writes blogger "Raag," of Blacksburg, Va., after a trip to Providence for a conference. Here's a bit of it: ...Any restaurant I went to served huge amount of food. At some places food was served in plates as big as counter top. I left a comment saying we like having leftovers to take home. (I really don't like paying $10 for a beautiful three bites with an artful dribble of sauce around the rest of the largely empty plate.) Are servings smaller in Virginia? I have no idea. 4 CommentsLeave a comment |

I agree with you. I can't stand going out and dropping $30-40 on a meal and leaving hungry. I don't care how good the food is. If I leave hungry, it wasn't worth it.

M, I'm with you, it can be economical to do this, especially for dishes it's expensive to make at home because you have to buy more than the recipe uses. And not having to cook tomorrow is a bonus.
Sometimes the appetizers on nightly specials are excellent, since they use fresh and seasonal ingredients that are in the market now.
Yes, Jim, I want to know where the plates as big as countertops are, too. We could stock up for the weekend there!
