Tom Aman sends out this information on an upcoming youth cross country meet: 5th Annual Will Speck Youth Cross Country Invitational Set for October 13th The Cranston League for Cranston’s Future (CLCF) Cross Country Program will host the 5th annual Will Speck Youth Cross Country Invitational on Saturday, October 13th at Cranston High School West located at 80 Metropolitan Avenue in Cranston. There will be races for boys and girls in three different age groups based on the participant’s age on the day of the race (under age 10, ages 11-12. and ages 13-14). Races are run on a 1.4 mile open grass terrain loop. There is a course walk-through at 3:30pm and the races start at 4:00pm. There is no fee. For additional information and to register in advance, contact Tom Aman at (401) 467-3279 or by e-mail at tomaman@cox.net. Registration on the day of the race begins at 2:30pm. Will Speck directed the CLCF track program from 1992 until his death in 2003. He started the cross-country running program in 2000.
