The League of Women Voters will host a candidates' forum in West Warwick tonight at 6:30 p.m. in the West Warwick High School Auditorium. The forum will allow the audience to submit questions before the forum for candidates and allow the candidates to address the issues. Participating in tonight's forum will be candidates for: Town Council candidates for Ward 3, Edward A. Giroux (incumbent) and Gary W. Trott (Republican), and Ward 5, Mark E. Bourget (Repubican); Representative District 27 Patricia A. Serpa (incumbent), David Michael (independent) and Ericka J. Atwell (Republican); and School Committee Bruce E. Vanasse (incumbent), James A. Williamson Jr. (incumbent), Christopher J. Boucher (Republican) and Lynn M. Ponte (Republican). Candidates who will be running unopposed, including Reps. Timothy A. Williamson and William J. Murphy, will also attend the forum. The forum is sponsored by the League of Women Voters, the Campaign to Eliminate Childhood Poverty, the West Warwick Jaycees, Housing Action Coalition of Rhode Island, and St. Gregory the Great Social Justice Committee.
