Rhode Islanders vote in primaries tomorrow to choose nominees for federal, state and local offices.

Eligible to vote are those who have been registered to vote in their current city or town for at least the past 30 days.

Independents accounts for the state's biggest voting bloc and can vote in either the Democratic or Republican primaries. The state has 329,288 independent voters, 278,570 registered Democrats and 75,498 Republicans, according to the secretary of state's office.

While independents can choose either primary, registered Republicans can vote only in the GOP primary and registered Democrats can vote only in their party's primary.

The secretary of state's office will also have voter information, at www.sec.state.ri.us/vic. Voters who do not know where they are supposed to vote can locate their polling place by logging in and providing their street address. The office can also be reached at (401) 222-2340.

The same Web site also contains sample ballots and opening times for all of Rhode Island's 39 communities.

The only statewide race for this election is a Democratic primary between U.S. Sen. Jack Reed and challenger Christopher Young.

There are a number of General Assembly primaries, and several communities have primaries on the town official level.

Here are all races in Rhode Island at a glance, including a look at endorsed candidates.
