Tomorrow night's big bash at the Democratic National Convention will feature food from eight American cities, including Italian fare from the Old Canteen, a favorite on Providence's Federal Hill. The party theme is "A Taste of American Cities" and will feature signature dishes from restaurants from Boston, Chicago, Denver, Louisville, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Seattle and Providence. The affair is sponsored by the National Conference of Democratic Mayors and Denver Mayor John HIckenlooper. Providence Mayor David N. Cicilline said he was proud to include Providence among the much larger cities and pleased that the Old Canteen is participating. ``It should be a really great time,'' said Cicilline. The party is from 8:30 to 11:30 p.m. at the Denver Tea Room, 1555 California St. |
