Sprucing up

Political Scene noticed strange sounds coming from upstairs at the State House Friday afternoon.

It turns out that a team of workers were busy inside the corner office usually occupied by the governor’s chief legal counsel, Kernan “Kerry” King.

The governor’s spokesman, Jeff Neal, said King experienced some uncomfortable working conditions since taking the job last fall.

“Ceiling paint has been consistently peeling away and falling onto the floor,” Neal said. “It was decided that given the amount of deterioration it was appropriate to go forward and repaint that ceiling.”

Taxpayers also helped repaint the ceiling in the adjacent office and the walls in King’s spacious office. The total price tag for the painting: $1,850, according to Neal.
