Reed has new press aide
There will be a new face in Sen. Jack Reed’s Washington office this morning.
Jennifer Berlin takes over for departed deputy press secretary Regan Lachapelle as of yesterday.
Lachapelle, incidentally, left Reed to serve as the deputy director of communications for Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.
While Reed’s office didn’t provide Political Scene with too much information on Berlin, the Washington, D.C.-area native is a graduate of Georgetown University. She most recently worked as a program coordinator for the Council on Foreign Relations. And the English major previously had a publishing gig with Conde Nast Publications.
Reed’s office reports that her only Rhode Island connection is a college friend from Jamestown, a place she frequently visited. Political Scene learned that Berlin is a fan of the clam chowder at The Black Pearl, a Newport hot spot.
