State Board of Elections: All polls in
The state Board of Elections has released the final unofficial numbers in today's primary races with each of Rhode Island's 515 precincts reporting.
Most of the mail ballots are also included in the final figures posted on the board's Web site.
In the high-profile Republican Senate race, incumbent Lincoln Chafee received 54.2 percent of the vote, with challenger Cranston Mayor Stephen Laffey getting 45.8 percent.
Overall, there were 63,459 votes cast in the Republican primary and at least another 1,360 mail ballots -- a new state record by nearly 20,000 votes.
