Why did the UFO visit Texas instead of the Ocean State?

Some of us here at projo.com were jealous when we saw reports of a UFO spotted over Texas.

Why couldn't we get stories like that in Rhode Island?

So why did this UFO decide to visit Texas instead of the Ocean State?

Here are some possibilities:

-- They were afraid they'd get stranded here if it happened to snow more than 2 inches.

-- They figured they'd run into fewer nuts with guns in Texas than in Rhode Island.

-- After listening to Roger Clemens' explanation about his alleged steroid use, they figured that even if they were spotted, nobody would believe any more tall tales from Texans.

-- They hadn't heard about generous benefits the Ocean State offers to illegal aliens.

-- They had heard about the state's affection for taxes and feared that the General Assembly would implement a special landing fee on flying saucers.

-- They're afraid of earthlings with big hair.

-- They figured they couldn't get jobs here since they don't have any in-laws or cousins in state government.

-- They figured they'd have an easier time communicating with earthlings in Texas, since, in monitoring radio transmissions from Earth, they were able to decipher the Texas drawl but not the Vo Dilan accent.

-- They couldn't find Little Rhody on their map.

-- Maybe nobody told them about WaterFire.
