A call for donations
The relief effort in Post-K New Orleans continues. Even after eight months, donations are needed now, more than ever.
My daughter, Melanie, 12, and I will be volunteering at a relief kitchen set up by a grassroots effort to fill the gaps left by traditional charities. We hope our efforts will inspire giving, and prompt volunteering by young people. Anybody at any age can give back to his or her community.
So if you can, send a package or packages. The relief kitchen near St. Bernard Parish and the 9th Ward can receive UPS.
