Of course the charges against the woman for violating the social host law were dismissed. Why should there be consequences for her or anybody else for that matter, that's involved with this entire incident? Now that young Mr. Kapko and his attorney have gone before the Court and entered a Not Guilty plea, we can all just continue to ignore what goes on all around us. It seems the only people so far that have had no choice but to accept consequences are the family members and friends left behind after the death of Luis Avila. How about her two little girls ? They are VICTIMS here. That's what goes along with being the recipient of violence when you have no choice in the matter. Others make all the choices for both themselves and others that get targeted. Yet , when faced with accepting responsibility for their choices and behaviors, they say, no way, not me , I didn't do anything wrong. I dare you to prove otherwise. We can only hope that JUSTICE will prevail

Warwick meeting on sex offenders' registry to be Monday
Hopefully parents can avoid the hysteria that so easily manifests when dealing with sex offender issues.
First let's keep in mind that sex offender recidivism is actually very LOW, contrary to popular belief. See www.nccpr.org for more details on child protection and reforms sorely needed to avoid the damage of false accusations.
Second, parents need to exercise universal precaution: always watch your kids no matter where they are or what they do and you'll avoid most trouble.
Let's keep calm.

Man suspected in string of thefts is held without bail
He is fortunate that the police caught him . Many people would be far less than compassionate considering he was stealing the things that they are passionate about . In this economy few people have the ability to replace these items , to sell them for a few hits of crack is a real crime .

Assembly considers making R.I. attractive to business
"considers" making RI attractive to business? The RI General Assembly is way too late - should have been doing this for past 20-30 yrs. This should be an on-going process by our elected officials and state economic development dept. This is so sad.

Buy Local RI's first shopping stop is Westerly
Since being elected, this is one of the few times I read anything about what the Lt. Gov is doing. The first step in getting the state budget under control is to eliminate this ridiculous position.

Assembly considers making R.I. attractive to business
Blow up everything and instead of making it competetive with New England, make it the most desirable place for business in the country. Make others react to Rhode Island for once. Make it so they can't say no!

Today's front page: The homeless, a 30-year-old mob hit
Wow! What a great job by the State Police! They found a dead body...30 years late. They should be proud of themselves. Now what? Will they charge someone in his death? Oops, I forgot, they did that already. So really what was the purpose? This was just a waste of taxpayers money. Things must be boring for the state police. Crime must be way down and Dunkin Donuts must have given up making fresh donuts... Nothing to do.... What a sham...I mean shame...no, BOTH are right!

Update: Search for mob victim deemed success / Photo
The title of this article should read, "Police Still Digging Up Bones in RI." I'm sure if more mobsters were caught and charged with criminal activity, more information about buried bodies would be supplied to the authorities. Rhode Islanders know the state has been a dumping ground for murdered mob victims for over a half a century. For his family's sake, at least Joe Scanlon has been finally located, albeit deceased. His remains can finally be laid to rest in a proper way. Mob murders as all murders affect the loved ones of those victims aside from the victim themselves. Kudos to the State Police and law enforcement for FINALLY finding the body of Joe Scanlon.

1-cent debt settled after city threatens lien
you have got to be kidding me.this country is about to give automakers 25billion dollars to spend on a deficit they created, the big three, when FORD's and GM's top executives showed up in private jets.when asked if the money should be taken partially out of their checks they wouldn't answer or said no i think it would be fine if all is left alone.pretty much an indirect answer.FORD's i believe vice president made over 9 million in his salary plus bonuses and this country has the ordacity to chase down a beautiful senior citizen whom has paid her dues 10 times over. you should be ashamed of yourself.this country is so screwed up.way to go america.who's gonna bail me out when i've lost everything.all i want is a job and i cant find that.how about sending those people broke.whats the matter they can't live on what they made this year.they all should be brought back to reality.thank you whomever you are for paying this womans bill we need more like you and less of them!!!!!!!!

Donna Zoglio is my sister in law. I am married to her brother. Brian flew with Bob back in May when we went up there to visit. Bob is a very cautious and safe pilot. My husband is with his family at this time. I know that they would appreicate your prayers for his family and for Ronald's family.

First I would be interested what the Mayor meant by "it was blown out of proportion" ? A bill was sent out for one cent with a postage of over 40 times that much, end of story.
Secondly, any computer system, can be programmed to cancel out a billing below a certain amount. The Banks do it, it's called rounding off.

Providence woman seeks to retain portrait in Nazi-era case
Germany was in a depression worse than the one here. People were starving--no one had any money for art works other than the GOON Nazis.
Mrs. Bissonnette and her husband and lawyers should be ashamed for fighting this. Maybe she has other stolen loot from the Nazis. If this is the case, should she be allowed to even live here in the US?
BRAVO Mr. Stern for leaving your estate to 3 universities. What a great learning experience for all of those law students.

Wonder how much Attleboro paid to send this out besides the postage? Just to printing of the bill, envelope, and time used to process the check for 1 cent probably cost close to a dollar!
Sounds like their computer programmer was asleep at the switch or the tax collector wasn't doing their job properly.
As for the WTC, those people did NOT die for nothing. 343 of my professional colleges died attempting to rescue those who perished, and many who did not perish now suffer debilitating illness from trying to find the remains at ground zero. Taking of human life has nothing to do with property taxes.
