« Teenager shot in Pawtucket; possible drive-by | Today | Photo: Car sideswipes building » June 3, 2008Motorcyclist dies in Cumberland crashCUMBERLAND -- A 19-year-old Cumberland man died last night when he lost control of the motorcycle he was driving and crashed on West Wrentham Road, according to the Cumberland police. Patrick R. Holmes, of Abbott Run Valley Road, was riding north with a group of riders shortly before 10 p.m. when he went off the road at a curve near Old West Wrentham Road, said Sgt. Paul Brown. Holmes was taken to Rhode Island Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to Brown. The police believe excessive speed was a factor in the accident.
