Woonsocket man, accused of abduction, held without bail

PROVIDENCE -- A Woonsocket man, accused of abducting an 11-year-old girl at knife point yesterday with intention of molesting her, is being held without bail after District Court arraignment in Providence this morning.

The Woonsocket police have said Miguel Navarro, 20, forced her to go with him to an abandoned apartment after she was walking on Willow Street on her way to Woonsocket Middle School yesterday morning. Navarro is charged with kidnapping and assault with intent to commit first-degree child molestation.

Also in court today, Attorney General Patrick C. Lynch's office presented Navarro as an accused bail violator on a different case that is slated for a Sept. 1 trial: a first-degree child-molestation charge in Woonsocket.

Navarro was ordered without bail because of the alleged bail violation, according to an attorney general's office news release. Navarro's next court dates are an April 17 determination of attorney conference and an April 24 status conference on the violation hearing.

i dont understand why he was walking the streets free to do what ever he wanted when he was waiting to go on trial for molesting a 5 year old just less than 2 years ago. i really have a hard time with that. i have 6 small children 2 girls and 4 boys my 4 oldest go to school. and if i havent been homeschooling my oldest she would have had to walk to the middle school. we live on grove which is 2 streets away from willow. i hope the little girl is doing well and my prayers are with her and her family. meanwhile i hope miguel navarri gets everything he deserved. he is a waste of life. he is a coward who preys on innocent little children. how dare he. i just hope he was the one going around the schools. now we all have to wonder just how safe our children really are. all she was doing was going to school and probably making plans for the upcoming vacation and now this happened. something she will remember forever. i have to commend her for being brave enough to run when she saw the chance to do so. and i also have to commend the police for their being so fast to catch him and get his sorry excuse for a human being off the streets.

he should be locked up the rest of his natural life, this is not his 1st offence on this charge,he has had previous charges in the past from reading news reports.if found guilty the judge should throw the book in his face.

the sad thing is, stuff like this happens all the time, navaro got caught, how many times do you think something like this happened and the guy didnt get caught, think about that. i think that you shouldnt judge people until you know them but mr this guy is easy to label as a monster. i believe that he should be locked up for a while and hopefully he wont do it again after big bubba does to him what he wanted to do to those kids
