Obama will hold rally at Rhode Island College Saturday

PROVIDENCE -- Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama will make a campaign stop at Rhode Island College on Saturday, as the March 4 primary here and in three more states could prove crucial in picking the Democratic nominee.

Doors open at noon for the "stand for change" rally, which is free and open to the public, the campaign just announced. He will be at the college's recreation center, 600 Mount Pleasant Ave.

Delegate-rich Texas and Ohio hold primaries the same day as Rhode Island, as does Vermont.

Former President Bill Clinton visited Rhode Island today, speaking to a crowd at Bryant University in Smithfield, on behalf of his wife, Obama's opponent for the nomination, New York Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Obama's wife, Michelle, visited last week, and Hillary Rodham Clinton was here last weekend, making her campaign stop at Rhode Island College as well.

Obama has run a nearly flawless campaign. He has proven himself to be not only an inspiring, unifying speaker with a strong progressive vision of how to heal America's Bush-inflicted wounds in education, environment, health care and foreign policy -- but a very competent manager as well! Taking on the Bill-and-Hillary Clinton machine (which includes most of the big-name pols in R.I.) and emerging victorious is a very significant accomplishment.

I can't help but get excited about this new candidate. I like what I'm hearing so far. But a part of me wants to know where the money is coming from to pay for all the change Mr. Obama is promissing.
He is such an excellent speaker, and he did vote against the war, which was base on lies.
Oh, what to do...

Obama's 50-state strategy.

Obama didn't need to do this - he didn't need to make this appearance. Obama's ahead in the national delegate count, and losing tiny R.I.'s delegates to Clinton would hardly cost him the nomination.

But Obama knows the value of the 50-state strategy, and his campaign has energized millions of new voters wherever he has appeared.

The Democratic party will need these new voters come November - so thanks in advance, Senator Obama, for coming to Rhode Island!

It would be helpful for your readers to read the foreign policy statement of the candidates....the link for Obama's is

In my opinion we need someone with vision and the guts to promote a transparent government as we fight our way out of the entanglements in the middle east.

I must admit that I was a Hillary fan first (and foremost). I like her stance on the environment and healthcare. I also liked her because of Bill Clinton. He was a good president in my eyes.

I had no idea what Obama stood for. However, after watching atleast one of the debates, I find that I like him too. He and Hillary have similar ideas on so many issues. What I also like about him is the same thing I don't love about him. He is "new" to the Washington machine of politics. But that makes him seem fresh and full of promise. Perhaps less tainted by the "system." What he lacks in experience he makes up for in his outlook, drive and determination to bring about change for the better. Now, I'm not saying that Mrs. Clinton isn't gung-ho to bring about change for the better...it's just that she'll have to go through some of her husbands ole naysayers to do it.

So, Obama has my vote!

What we need is a change. Obama has a very clear
plan to to fix our, health care, economy, foriegn policy and most importantly bring our troops home. We can not be the police of the world. This war ruined our ecomomy it is time for Iraqis to take responsibility for their country.
Qualities I like about Obama are that he is new and represents change, I am sure he will fight corporate greed in America. He does not get any money from lobbyists and corporations unlike the Clintons. He does not have to pay back anybody except the public like you and me who funded his campaign.
They say he does not have experience for me the more experience in washington the more corrupt.

Yes, We can.... Obama won my vote

Yawn...all brainwashed by a charasmatic, smooth talking candidate. Tell me what he stands for? Better yet how do you see him paying for his plans? You have NO IDEA about him except his rhetoric and feel good message.....baaah...baaaah...baah....follow blindly sheep.

He seems nice but all the candidates are bad right now. We are in huge trouble and nobody has a way to fix it. Only a way to destroy us further with more debt and POOR POOR financial "SOLUTIONS". When he, she or he fail to deliver on any and I mean any of their promises will you call them out on it or still follow blindly?

When we are a socialist state and you pay 60%+ of your earnings or more in taxes to cover programs for people abusing the system what will you say then?

You must CUT HUGE spending get ALL abusers off the system. Improve foreign relations and take care of AMERICANS first and foremost.

Cut a program and someone always holds up a child who will be hurt by the cut. Tell that person to get the deadbeats, addicts, and illegals off the coffers and we could cover ALL the expenses necessary for the people who NEED help not just want it.

I rambled. Be fooled vote based on looks, and speeches, god forbid you look at what the speeches would actually cost and who is paying for them.

Just like our state legislature....they have ruined this state and you want someone even wprse to run this country God help us!!!
