Woman charged with fatally stabbing man in Pawtucket

A 22-year-old man is dead today after a stabbing this morning in Pawtucket.

Pawtucket police have not named the victim, but say he and the suspect, Misty Ospina, 21, had been in a relationship in the past, and have a child together.

Ospina was dropping the child off with the victim at 19 Thornton St., according to the police, when they got into an argument and then, the police say, Ospina stabbed the victim.

He was pronounced dead at 10 this morning at Memorial Hospital.

Ospina is scheduled for arraignment on first-degree murder charges in District Court, Providence, this afternoon.

Almost every day now there is a stabbing and/or shooting in the inner cities. It's happening so often that we are becomming completely decensitized to it...which unfortunately only minimizes the actual horror of it. Whether it's gang related or drug related, the cities that I was raised in are no longer anywhere I would ever consider raising my own children in. So sad...yet so true!!

It really is amazing all the crimes, not just in the inner cities anymore, but around the greater Providence area. Pawtucket is a zoo, and Cranston is becoming tougher and tougher to live in everyday....stabbings and 10 robberies in the past week show you it's not longer a safe place to live....if you border Providence, look out!!!!

How come all the yuppies that bought lofts in Pawtucket and work in Boston don't contribute more to their city? Shouldn't they start a task force to help with these issues?? Don't the loft developers get crazy tax breaks?

Lets stop this ridiculous violence. I personally knew this man. He was a hard working, honest and brillant man. So sad to see another life lost over something so simple. Lets stop this before another beautiful life is lost.
