Clinton to open R.I. headquarters with rally today

PROVIDENCE-- The Hillary Clinton campaign will officially open its headquarters here this afternoon.

Supporters of the Democratic presidential contender are expected to be joined by some of the state's top Democratic politicians, including U.S. Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse, U.S. Rep. James Langevin, Lt. Gov. Elizabeth Roberts and Providence Mayor David n. Cicilline.

The opening and rally at 175 Broad St. is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.

Clinton will visit Rhode Island herself this Sunday. Details have not yet been announced.

A local headquarters for fellow Democratic contender Barack Obama was opened last Wednesday at 235 Westminster St. in downtown Providence.

Talk about bias!

You have written 3 articles about the second opening of the Hillary HQ. Didn't it actually open on Saturday, but because of paltry turnout they are doing another one? Methinks yes.

And Obama has 500+ people at his headquarters opening and you write only a small article with no pre-announcement glitz like you are giving Clinton!

PLAY FAIR!

No, Saturday was a volunteer orientation; today was always the official opening - and believe me, there were PLENTY of people present on Saturday, so they didn't need to delay it for that reason.

So, you shouldn't go around crying bias - Please, if anything, the media has treated Obama with kid gloves.

Obama's rally cry, "We Need A Change" , is just that --- a rally cry. We've yet to hear what thae actual plans and dates of these changes are. At least Hillary has a plan with anticipated dates. So before you go attacking one candidate versus the other, get your facts straight. That's what killed Kerry's presidential campaign. The same old we need to have change speech, but no actual plan.

HILLARY STARTS WITH A 47% DISAPPROVAL....SHE CAN'T WIN. ONLY IN RHODE ISLAND BECAUSE THERE ARE TO MANY SENIORS.....AND THEY CAN'T SEE PAST FDR. I BEGAN TO "SEE" AFTER MY LAST DEMOCRAT JFK.
THE PARTY HAS GONE LEFT SINCE THEN AND HAS LEFT ME BEHIND. I'M 72 SO I QUALIFY TO SPEAK ABOUT SENIORS.. I SEE THEM EVERY DAY. THEY LOST THEIR VISION.

We are in need of a candidate and President who will lead our wonderful country in these hard times. Qualifications for this job include as much experience as one can have. Hillary has the qualifications for this responsible post. We are out in the International community and have been for some time now. It is shameful how the image of the US has been tarnished. Hillary is the person who can restore this. We see and experience first hand what the last 7 years have brought us to. Thank you for the opportunity to comment. Bill and MaryAnn
