Mrs. Carcieri to host breast-cancer awareness event

PROVIDENCE -- First Lady Sue Carcieri is participating in an event this afternoon to raise awareness of breast cancer.

Carcieri will join the Rhode Island Breast Cancer Coalition in hosting the tenth annual Pink Ribbon Tea.

The event, to be held in the State Room of the Statehouse, honors women who have been diagnosed with and treated for breast cancer.

The event is part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

A reception is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. A program will begin at 4.
