Immigrants to call for reform in today's march
PROVIDENCE – Immigrants expect to gather this afternoon at Central High School and then march to the State House, beginning around 3:30 or 4 p.m., as they did last year.
An afternoon march a year ago also began at Central High School, located at 70 Fricker St.
Organizers of the annual May 1st march for immigration reform say they are spurred on by the immigration raid at a New Bedford factory on March 6.
Marches, meetings and voter registration drives are scheduled today across the country to encourage Congress to act on immigration. During last year's May 1 activities, 1 million immigrants flexed their economic muscle in a nationwide boycott. Read more about the national effort.

Why can't ICE round up the illegals at these marches? If they're going to congregate in one place and make it this easy we should take advantage of it.
