BOSTON -- The Red Sox will take on the Seattle Mariners in their annual season opener today.
Despite the unseasonally cold weather, the game is sure to draw a big crowd. Gates opened at noon, and special ceremonies are planned, including introducing more than 20 members of the 1967 American League championship team.
Already on the scene are several staffers from The Providence Journal, including sports editor Art Martone, and Journal political columnist M. Charles Bakst -- both diehard Red Sox fans. Several Journal reporters and photographers are on the job, too.
Both Martone and Bakst have already filed for projo.com this morning, including an audio report from Martone and color commentary from Bakst.
Projo.com will be publishing blog posts, before, during and after the game, photos, and much more as the afternoon goes on. Visit the home page at projo.com, or get all the details at our Red Sox page at http://projo.com/redsox
