R.I. lawmakers to consider Iraq resolution
PROVIDENCE -- Rhode Island lawmakers are expected to consider today whether to officially criticize an escalation of the Iraq War.
A House committee plans to hear testimony on a resolution that opposes President Bush's plan to send 21,000 more troops into Iraq.
The three Democrats behind it are scheduled to speak today at a 3 p.m. news conference.
Senator Joshua Miller, another Democrat, has introduced a similar measure in the Senate.
