Premiere of John Lennon documentary canceled
SOUTH BERWICK, Maine -- The world premiere of the John Lennon documentary ``Three Days in the Life'' have been canceled at a school in Maine -- after lawyers for Yoko Ono say Lennon's widow didn't authorized it.
The unfinished documentary was sold for $1 in 2000 to Providence businessman Bob Grenier, along with executive producer Ray Thomas and his partner John Fallon.
The documentary was filmed by Ono's former husband, Tony Cox, and covered a three-day period in February 1970, two months before the Beatles broke up. Ono's lawyers say she has a copyright interest in the film.
The producers decided to show the movie for free at high schools and colleges because they couldn't get a release from Ono. But Ono's lawyers say even that's forbidden, so tonight's showing was canceled.
