anyway, the other day one of my hairstyling clients was telling me how her bf works at the spot on thayer st., you may know it as a place to do yoga, but she was telling me that they are starting to have shows with local bands and local artists so it def worth checking out.

As for me i just finished reading a sweet Andy Warhol autobiography..and im getting ready for my vacation!! I'll be home just in time to meet my friend jason at the middle east to see the spill canvas, and dont forget madina lake at the living room march 19..thats it for now!

Last fri as tall as lions played at the living-room. if you missed the show i sugg. you check out their myspace/website. Also coming up at the living-room one of my fav. bands the sleeping will be there 12/27..and if you havent herd yet the mars volta is coming to lupos soon!! In feb. the foo fighters are coming to the dcu center. I know this is random but the dunk is holding this motorcross event in jan. And if your still shopping for the holidays stop by craftland on westminster..its sure to have some unique gifts for your friends!

Being busy its hard to get in the holiday spirit sometimes..but my friend lauren and i found a way to bring cheer to a couple scrooges i live with. While everyone was at work we went shopping for lights garland and some other stuff...now my friend and i arnt really christmas carol people so we made a batch of "holiday" coffee, put on some at the drive in and some other random stuff and turned the mantel/fireplace into an array of green garland, colored lights, ribbon and holiday cheer haha. Thank goodness they liked it b/c me lauren and annmarie aka tiny tim (b/c shes 4'10") put a lot of hard work into that!

Oh ya i almost forgot..i was reading an article that was saying the reason why we dont have a lot of music venues here or the reason they have been closing is b/c there isnt enough local music to fill ther slots...hmmmm..now that kinda pissed me off...i took it upon myself and found 11,000 pages of bands in ri on the internet..i dont think its an issue of not enough bands. i think people shouldn't just focus more-so on their friends bands or that kinda politics but on all the over looked talent...the bands are everywhere..heck some of the guys that live above me are in some good bands!

And ya know to make money and get people through the door you have to promote..put it out there where people can see it and take advantage of it...people are lazy sometimes and if its not in their face they wont know about it and therfore will not go. Ah that's just my opinion anyway..well good luck with all your holiday shopping and partying!

so i rounded up my bro, my cousin marc their roommate mike, D and ann-marie and we all went to the show together..it was just like old times! the only difference is, is that the old murphys closed..and the new one just isnt the same.

Well apparently they are opening a dublin pub where the old murphys used to be and i hear they are going to keep it more of a dive bar!

Also, i have just gotten back from ME a week ago. Lauren and I went up there to see my friend dan (from madina lake) perform at the station..i have to say it was really nice to get outa here and spend some time with someone i dont get to see too much. The city was beautiful, we went out for sushi and had some margaritas and the best part was getting coffee in the am at my favorite place..and going to the drum shop with dan to look for parts for his vintage drum set at home.

Once we came home my friend told me he'd put my friend and i on the list if i wanted to come up to Conn. to see him..so i said sure and dragged ann-marie with me..it was awesome..im so proud of all the progress they have made!!

I havent been out too much b/c i have been working on this painting ive been procrastinating on..anyway..i feel like a change of scenery..so my friend jess told me i could stay with her on the weekends and go out in boston to do something different..hmm..i think i may take her up on that..maybe not every weekend though.

Now that thanksgiving is over..there is alot going on. A chiodos show in Mass. and my friend Chris's show at AS220 tonight!! My first night out in a while! And i have the day off tomorrow....about time!!!

i went over to art freek wich now has moved to wickenden st. and let me tell you, they did a beautiful job with the place..its super clean and there is different art splashed all over the walls. needless to say mike of course did a great job!

i have had a lot of late nights..reading..(surprise, surprise) lol..also to your surprise work has been stellar between the last 6 weeks we've had students, parents..and regulars flood the salon...and if i do say so myself im not too bad (lol) made many new clients and quite a few of them said it was the best cut/color they've had! (im stoked)! Like i always say i love having random friends...

Went to the academy concert at lupos. now they recently re-did lupos and it looks better then ever..probably one of the best places to see a show in prov. my friend jesse from canada was in town b/c he happened to be working for them.. so after the show a bunch of us hit up as220 to catch some of the bands playing but we were too late (bummer)...from there we decided to go to my friends halloween party..it was fun, my friend em made tons of food and we all just hung out while some of the guys jammed on their guitars.

I think in an entry before i told you guys about this book i read called haunted RI...well the other night i took my cuz and some friends of mine to west greenwich where i grew up..also home to some of the states most notorious graveyards!!

These roads are seriously scary and dark and when we pulled up to the first one there was a few shady characters hanging out..as we got out of the car these two sketchy looking guys came over and told us to get lost..without argument we left..but the next one we got to walk into and thats the one where mercy brown was kept before she was burried there...apparently after she died she was kept in this shed till the ground thawed out but in the meantime her sisters died and the fam was convinced she was a vampire..so when they opened the shed they found her still dead but her hair and nails had grown such a significant amount the burned her heart and burried her there..crazy huh..needless to say we didnt see anything but it was creepy none the less.

There happens to be a lot of random stuff going on this coming month..and i'll be sure to organize a good list and let ya know.

I was thinking this is really last minute but screw it im going and i new just the friend who would come with me! i ran upstairs at work and told lauren that we were going to boston and explained the situation.

NOW at the risk of sounding completely irresponsible and reckless heres my weekend....we head up to boston just in time for the show and it was fun to see jason and catch up..after the show we packed things up and went to the tour bus for a drink before we hit the bar across the street...and how cute the bus was fully decorated for halloween! me lauren jason and hot hot heat and crew went over to have drinks and chill at T's..after that we all chilled out and had a few more drinks on the bus..well they were suppose to leave at 2:30..that turned into 4:30..and although we all didnt want to go, we had to. i havent seen a 5am morning in a while..sleep was short lived when lauren and i had to get up at 8am to go to the train station.

After work ann-marie and i decided to go to my bro's party up on the east side..it was so much fun! it was nice to see old friends and the second floor apt came down to party (they are super nice) and the beer pong games begun...around 4am everyone found a spot to sleep..and work came bright and early at 8am. So tired..2 words jack daniel's..but luckily i should have been tired but i got some kind of third wind and ann-marie and i decided to grab a bite to eat at tortilla flats then surprise the boys with 2 huge pumpkins a 30rack 2 bottles of JD and some rum..oh ya and a dancing skeleton on a harley and a lowrider hearse..needless to say they were stoked!

so my bro and everyone and the 2nd floor decided to party..around 2am ann-marie got tired so brian and i took her home...

...everyone got happily rowdy ... and a handful of us decided to not sleep b/c we had to work so early the next morning..i lasted till 7am before i slept for an hr. then went to work. Finally sleep! and monday was relaxing but still a late night but finally i didnt have to work the next morning..so i got to sleep till 11..got my hair cut..and since then have just been chiling out.

ann-maries bday is thursday..hmmm.. and who knows what this weekend will hold.

but monday my friend ant's fav. band is playin at the living room wilhelm scream (???) ive never herd of them but i promised him id go cause he cant make it..

tues is my tattoo apt!!! and in the mist of all that im def going to try to make it to see ted leo in nov too..so untill the next adventure...

RI is so small...last wkend D and i went to go see state radio at lupos..they are a rock/reggae band and their live shows are kickass! well as we were there i happened to run into an old friend of mine whos back in town..john..it was really good to see him and catch up..an added bonus i get to hear his new music before his 3rd cd even comes out so i get to tell u if the follow up to "the wait" is actually worth the wait...but i know its going to be amazing!

I have to say i have taken a break from going out..somewhat..going out is fun but i hit a wall where i had to clean up this mess (my life) re-organize if u will..its kinda like putting pieces of a puzzle together..if you dont have the right pieces the whole puzzle could be left forever unfinished..but anyway onto some fun stuff...

while i have been relaxing ive also been doing some random reading..i picked up an amazing book called haunted RI...its true stories of ri's most haunted places, and even better it gives u directions on how to get to them...can we all say road trip!!

Well creepy enough there were 4 highly haunted places where i grew up..exeter/west greenwich! what a great book..fun read...

i also picked up the heroin diaries by nikki sixx..now im not a huge fan of his band but my friend cheryl told me it was awesome..and let me tell you it was! it was the first book in a while that took me to a whole other place when i was reading it..and when it was over i was craving more.

now i no Oct. just got here but i cant wait till nov!! once nov starts my friends the red jumpsuit app. are coming back to town (lupos)..and my friends madina lake are coming back as well but to ME and conn!! i cant wait to catch up with everyone! i just found out about the M. lake show randomly b/c when i was in work the other day, we got this awesome last minute client susan.. who got kicked out of her room before she could get ready to go to a wedding..well long story short she's from chicago and so is M. lake wich reminded me to check the book..

well thats about it..besides dinner at emilys tues and a crazy party on wends..and my tattoo apt on the 23rd im going to have to fill in the blanks with some new fun stuff!! keep you posted as always!

oh and PS my friend ben wants to know why girls text guys so much insted of calling..he says just call at least you'll know for sure if you get through..not like a text where your left wondering if that little message was even recieved..so if we dont hear back we can no they got it and get mad for a reason..hmm..i have to laugh but he raises a good point..food for thought..good nite!

while ive been getting over my cold i got to the starting line show and met this awesome up and coming band called sound the alarm (check em out!!) i also made it to hip hop night at as220 on monday..and let me tell you these local guys have some serious talant.

been to the beach and out to breakfast at brickway more times then i can count haha..friday night my friends and i got to enjoy a fun night..we hung out and ate an jullians (amazing) then met our friend anthony at hell for his going away party..kinda..

sat night my friend cat was in town so d and i decided to take her out..we ended up at trinity..then as220..then my cuz marc called and wanted to meet us out so we told him to meet us at the fez..well as we were walking to the fez we ran into ben (the guy d dates) and his roommate! its crazy how small ri is! the fez was packed and we had so much fun it was the first time in a while that the four of us got together..

so after two late nights out ive been trying to be good...just hanging at the beach with my friends...monday night before our work meeting we had dinner at tortilla flats..nothing like mexican and margaritas before a late meeting..stellar. well it was also marc (my cuz) bday monday so we met him and his roommates for a drink at kartebar and let me tell ya the only people having a good time were lauren marc and i..what the heck is that hahaha..

well we told marc we'd take him out for tons of bday fun this weekend!

well our big night out was friday..lauren ro and i met up at lilly's on fed hill..now i had never been there before but it was a wicked cool atmosphere.. it was dark and small but had a lot of character..with its big booths, sweet bar and a pool table what more could you ask for!

we ended up meeting these girls b/c they loved our hair (random) i did laurens its a punked out haircut with 3 entertwining colors and i also did my own wich is now short, pink and white haha so i guess we kinda stand out..

well they work over at salon bianco wich is across the street from lillys of fed hill and told us to stop in some time and check out the salons new digs.

we also ran into some other interesting people there..get this i was in line for the bathroom and the guy next to me told me he was doing the pee pee dance..WTF..haha lame! are you kidding is this what girls have to look forward to when they go out now..

anyway..we end up at club hell b/c ro's boyfriend was working and it was a blast! i ended up seeing this boy i knew and we got to talking well when the night closed we all decided to take the party to my house (bad idea hahaha) we lit a little fire in the backyard, had more drinks and the last time i looked at the clock it was 630 and what a surprise i had to be up at 7 and we had a wedding party at work..

well i woke up and we got coffee and i headed to work and let me tell ya my brides came out awesome! no sleep great work how perfect..until i crashed..sunday i could feel the cold coming on and besides errands with my dad and dinner with d monday

i have been on the road to recovery. and tonight my friends are coming over to have dinner and watch movies and hey they owe me.. there boy/relationship stories are sending my quiet life into overdrive..while im playing dr. phil i hardly have time to sift through some of my own stuff..which is hard sometimes b/c when everyone elses life is moving at 110mph and yours is stuck in quicksand it kinda stinks but i love that i can be there for my friends!

well the pizza is here and i have to cook my soup so we can get to watching movies..ill be writing soon!

well thursday was my friend emilys get together before her wedding. Ro and i took her to dinner at spats so she had no idea there was a surprise party for her..after dinner we convinced her to grab a drink at trinity (where everyone was waiting) so when we walked in she was shocked!!

saturday was prob the most fun i had in a long time...i got the girls together ( D and jess) to grab some drinks at trinity, b/c of waterfire the city was slamming..so parking was an issue..but after we found a spot the crazyness began..

on the walk to trinity not only did we walk in the middle of a dirty conversation, we were heckled by a drunk boy outside a bar near as220 (apparently suffering from tough guy syndrome) haha..he was giving us a hard time for going to as220 and not there..random..well outside as220 we ran into some friends but decided to head over to trinity first..well after trinity we went to muldownys then to as220 to grab a shot for last call with our friend who bartends there..

after that d went home but jess and i decided to head over to the fez to visit my friend marissa..and after that i stopped by my brothers apt. and hung with my cuz till around 5am and figured i might as well crash on the couch.

Sunday morning i woke up to a parking ticket..not only that but on my way back up to providence to meet d for breakfast i got pulled over on the hi-way and got a speeding ticket! 2 tickets in 2hrs not bad..tickets are so lame!!!! but we had a good breakfast at brickway and headed up to boston for shopping!

walking around boston was fun but we werent so lucky shopping..we couldnt find anything good. monday was suppose to be the highlight of my vacation b/c laurren and i were going up to portland ME to see my friends madina lake! we couldnt have asked for better weather and when we got there we had time to chill before we had to get ready and head over to the show.

lauren and i decided to take a walk and explore and get some snacks and coffee..lucky for us i kinda knew the area from being there before, but what i didnt know was there was a secret spot to get the best ice coffee for 2$..now you know that im a coffee lover so when i saw that i had to try it...it was in the most random thai convience store across from the station (venue we were going to later that night) when i ordered it it was already made with cream and sugar and i was like great this has so much stuff in it, its going to make me sick!! but once i tried it i quickly found out it was the best ice coffee i ever had!

later on that night at dinner i finally decided to text dan and tell him i was there..now i hadnt talked to him in 2 weeks so he had no idea i was coming to he show it was a surprise...well his response was unexpected..he told me they had to cancel that morning b/c they were recording vocals and wouldnt be able to make it back to ME on time to play the show..although i was bummed it was cool that we got to chat and catch up..and they'll be back in town around november..something to look forward too.

well dont think that was the end of our night..after getting stared at by two cute and tattooed boys (random) we decided to go back to the hotel and grab a drink in case we had to wait in line for tickets..well we got right in and surprise surprise remember those boys with the staring problem haha well they were warming up to go onstage...they were members of the bled, a hardcore rock band from arizona i believe..i couldnt believe it! and sure enough when they got off stage mike the drummer came over and introduced himself saying he saw us at margaritas..after chatting for a bit we decided to hang and grab some drinks with them after the show!

i also met this girl who was from ME and there to take photos of the bands but she was bummed b/c this guy told her she couldnt get near the stage to take pics (lame)! so i told her to follow me and i got her backstage and introduced her to mike so she got some pics of him and we got her on stage to take pics of saosin..once the show wrapped lauren and i had drinks with our new friends who invited us to their show in mass in sept. ( i suggest u check em out they are the bled dont forget) around 2am we went back to our hotel to crash. despite the hangover in the morning we got our stuff together got another one of those amazing coffees and were on our way home.

it just goes to show you when you go into something with no expectations you can only come out having a better time then you could have ever thought! besides work being busy and going out for a drink here and there ive been trying to relax b/c in the next few months there is a lot of stuff going on..i promise i will keep you updated!

Of course we all went out tuesday..but it was wedn that was a ton of fun. D and i went to this folk festival her friend was playing in, and it was so much fun b/c ive never been to one before..the weather was nice, and the people were nice..it was good to veg out..

once the show was over, ben, d and i went to andreas for drinks..although ben put me in the hot seat with who im dating and what my type is, it was still awesome to hang out and get to know the guy who makes my best friend so happy.

So i was trying to save up some energy for the rise against show on sat. but the girls and i had to celebrate b/c my friend dan and the rest of his band madina lake grabbed the cover of kerrang! mag!!! the mag. said they were going to be the next big thing...im so excited for them!

after a long day sat. i was ready for the concert ive been waiting for all week...well needless to say we were late..i missed silverstein..but ended up chatting with this guy named jason..come to find out he was the manager for rise against..random..so we were invited to hang with the guys later on after they finished packing up (sweet!)

so in the meantime we went to muldowney's on empire st. then met up with jason and a slew of guys from rise against and silverstein and crew at blakes. after grabbing a couple drinks there we decided to take a bunch of the guys to the fez. it ended up being a late night b/c we didnt have to drop the boys off at the bus at 2am. by the time we got home it was 3:30 ugh and i had to work in the morning.

Im glad fri starts my vacation...shopping in boston..seeing madina lake in ME.. im sure its bound to be a stellar vaca!!

Tuesday night was the premiere for the film festival, i was lucky to score 2 private screening tickets b/c one of my clients runs the film festival. the filmings were great, they were indie style short films from all different genres.

after that wraped emily and i met d at andreas for drinks..after that we met up with some other friends at club hell..late nite number one.

I was really excited for wednesday nite b/c the girls and i were going to our friend vincents show at the as220! which was nothing short of stellar..if your into metal..after the show emily and i went to nice slice (on thayer st.) for a piece of pizza before going home, they have the best pizza and the most chill atmosphere.

after tues and wends i neederd a day off but my friend Ro and emily wanted to go out to visit Ro's boyfriend at work, he bartends at club hell. an early night turned into hanging there until 12:30ish and the girls going back to emilys house to have wine and make homemade mac and cheese lol. i dont think i ended up in bed till around 2am..we planed to get breakfast at nine but needless to say that didnt happen.

Thank god friday nite was a night off..but i forget sat nite d and i were going to a birthday party in conn. feeling a little tired sat b/c of the stressfull wedding party i had that day at work it didnt help to know that the drive to the party was going to be 2 1/2 hrs..but i was in good spirits.

we went out to dinner and out to a club /bar..the bar took ur id, put it in a computer and made you look into a camera while asking you if this was your id and if you were 21..lol..crazy!! the club was hysterical..tons of random people.

we started our drive home at around 1am..didnt get home till 3am..but of course we were chitchatting with each other and some friends on ther phone (i dont know why)..but i had to be at work for 9:30. i was tired and for sure thought id be staying in but my dad invited me for dinner and drinks at chellos waterfront..and my friend melanie convinced me to go out later.

i needed a nap for sure..but didnt get much of one. we ended up at andreas for drinks..and with all the stress going on in our lives it was kinda nice to go out and vent about work and stuff...with today being my first day off it was good to catch up on sleep...this weekend if your not doing anything i suggest you check out silverstein and rise against at lupos on sat!!!

now she is trying to convince me to move to orlando to live with her...im not going to lie it does sound tempting..but for now im just patiently waiting for the busy month of aug.

This week has been tiring and its only the beginning of the week! you know when you start hanging out with new friends and your nights tend to get later and later..well thats whats happening..last night the girls and i went to andreas then met up with d's friend clem at hot club wich was low key until my friend chris and his friends showed up, they are crazy but tons of fun..

we bailed from hot club to go to trinity brew house for last call, and from there we decided to get pizza up on thayer..between the intensely loud pantera music and funny jokes the night was a blast..we stayed up till 4am and let me tell you 7am came real fast.

I have to say its funny how things change day to day...finding new friends...seeing through some of the old ones and always trying to put yourself in a good place...sometimes you dont even realize all the changes of events in your life till you sit down with your best friend for dinner and recap the some of the wild weeks you have had.

relaxation is important for me this week b/c next week my friend is having a show at the as220 on thursday and my crazy friends will be back in town just in time for the weekend!

remember when you were a kid and they had those velcro mits? well we bought some at cvs and started to pass the time at work playing catch in the ally.

Well not only did we hit cars, got our ball run over, lost our ball in the gutter, and smashed a mit we had to break down and buy our second set of the week ..haha..

but i have to say it makes the down time fun..and we die laughing..kind ove makes you feel like your a kid again -- especially when you end the intense game with a dels.

Dear hunter plus a couple other bands will be playing at the as220 on sat. i believe..theyre def. worth checking out, i saw them play with the format a few months ago.

there is also summer session wich is going on sat. night i believe over in between tazza and the black rep, it shoud be an eclectic mix of people and events worth checking out.

so i decided to take a little break from going out to save some money...but with good reason lol.

In aug. im going to philly to visit my friend daniel, not only does he produce areodrone but he is also coming out with a cd. check it out spoill on myspace

so im lucky b/c not only do i get to catch up with a good friend but i get to sneak a peak at all his upcoming projects!

At the end of aug. a couple of good friends and i plan on going on a small road trip eventually ending up in portland ME for my friends concert (madina lake), you can also catch them on the projekt rev. tour with linkin park...

and finally in Jan. i'll be going down to Australia to visit my friend ant...and for 2 1/2 weeks he's taking me on tour with the band he works for (the living end) !it should be fun b/c they are on Green Days label and are playing with a bunch of other bands who are suppose to be amazing, and dont worry i'll be keeping you up to date with all these stories.

So trying to figure all these things out has been taking some time, so ive been laying low with the nightlife but only for a bit.

Hanging at the beach has been my get-away lately wich is awsome b/c with all the diff. things going on in the couple months im going to need all the relaxing i can get lol.

Some thing to look forward to is live music! In a couple weeks shiny to guns and the bravery are playing bru's summer concert series, and silverstein (one of my favorites) are playing with rise against Aug 18 at lupos..and in Mass the smashing pumpkins and the cure are playing show in the up-coming months.

And i almost forgot to tell you local favorites zox are recording their new cd as we speak..and as soon as they wrap i get to hang with john to catch up and get the scoop on the new material!

So with all this going on expect a ton of updates while im on my adventures...well its getting late and i need to catch up on some sleep..till next time..

Even though it was suppose to be all about the 4th, my friends and I did more celebrating on the 3rd..why? Well it was my best friend D's birthday!

The girls and I rented a huge room on the 16th floor of the biltmore for the night...the plans entailed getting dinner at trinity brewhouse, then heading over to club hell for 80's night.

A bunch of friends and family came to meet up with us..but the party didnt end when the club closed...everyone came back to the room for the after party. It was one of those situations where you turn around and all of a sudden the room is filled with people (crazy!)..but it was a blast, we had the room filled with balloons and D's brother brought his guitar so we were all jamming out.

Im surprised we didnt get kicked out! Thank god i only had one haircut the next day considering i was super tired...but the 4th was uneventful. I guess that was my fault.

Even though the previous night was fun i needed a break from going out. I was begining to feel like i was seeing the same places/people, and the fun in going out is to expand and to see new places and people but also not to forget about some of your favorites.

I had to let go of having expectations for our nights and start living in the moment more like i was before..you cant plan the fun and memorable times, they have to find you.

After staying in for the 4th the following night seemed to be a different scene (yes!) It was my friend chuck and kevins movie premiere...they were sending in this tape to MTV and comedy central to try to get their own show.

Let me tell you this movie was amazing...between their super funny pranks and skits it also had clips from a ton of shows they played over the years. I have to say i think they have a chance! Its unique, funny, and they make you feel like you've known them for years. It was such a nice change of pace!

Sat. night rolled around and i was out to eat with my dad. i swore i wasnt going to go out but my friends and i were invited to AS220 to check out a bunch of bands.

Randomly ran into Emily's friend Ben who was outside and his roommate Vincent who i met on my birthday. Even though i didnt go to the after party after the show (surprise surprise) it was a lot of fun to hang with Ben and Vincent..i can see many more fun times to come!

That brings me to the end of my weekend...it was fun and im glad i got a chance to chill out and not put too much planning into my new plans...

i think at times we try to detour ourselves from the stresses of life by taking on extra projects or just trying to escape, but in return the stress is still there...so ive done everything to get rid of it and start this week on a nice clean stress free slate!
