North Gymnastics - January 25, 2009

It was an exciting night for the NK Gymnastics team in it's home opener at Aim High Academy in East Greenwich. NK was finally able to put forth a healthy line up and didn't have to worry about the snow!!

NK started on vault scoring a 35.05. Tiphani Comena lead the team with a 9.0 on a pike tsuk and Alysse Pazienza scored an 8.8 on a front handspring front. Meg Salt received an 8.95 on a huge pike tsuk and senior Haley Lattiville's 1/2, 1/1 received an 8.3 and rounded out top vault scores for the Skippers.

The uneven bars were the toughest event of the night for NK. Scoring an 8.95 Pazienza, who won the event for the evening, performed an amazing over shoot and stood up a double back flyaway. Teammates, Jacqueline Siatti, Comena and senior captain Caitlin Salt contributed an 8.5, 8.25 and 8.05 respectively to the teams bar score.

And the beam. Scoring a 34.05, NK had to count 2 falls in it's top 4 scores for a team total Again, Pazienza lead the team with an 8.8 and unfortuately fell on a difficult back tuck series. Siatti and Caitlin Salt both received an 8.45 with solid stuck routines. Sophomore Kayla Daly scored an 8.35 tonight and is hoping to add some new tricks to her routine for the next competition.

Floor exercise was a highlight for the Skippers. Pazienza and sophomore Megan Salt lead the team with 2 amazing performances receiving 9.3 and 9.4 respectively. Siatti's consistant performance earned her an 8.75 and Kayla Daly's 8.5 was one of her best this season.

Coventry is a solid force in Division A scoring a 33.55 on vault, 33.85 on bars, 33.0 on beam and a 33.5 on floor. The team is lead by Haley Corssley with a 33.9 All Around.

Congratulations to all of the gymnasts competing this evening.
