With just one open scholarship, it looks as if Tim Welsh and his staff are being very choosy and doing most of their legwork on the current high school junior class.
As for seniors, PC hopes to get a visit for Midnight Madness (Oct. 12-13) from Bilal Dixon, a 6-9 forward at the Queen of Peace School in New Jersey. PC is hard on Dixon and may be the only school ready to take him now. St. John's, Seton Hall, UNLV and a few Atlantic 10 schools have also been in contact with Dixon.
The PC staff has also seen 6-9 Ryan Brooks of Absecon, NJ, several times in the last month. Brooks may also be coming to Providence for an official visit in the next few weeks. Rhode Island is among a long list of schools who are also chasing Brooks.
