Have to apologize to PC & URI fans for some errors in a blog item yesterday.
First, the players who sat in on PC's practice Tuesday were Dominick Rutledge of Edison, NJ and Ryan Brooks of Absecon (Holy Spirit), NJ. Billy Oliver was NOT in attendance. Rutledge and Brooks are two `under-the-radar' forwards who at least one coach told me this week can be as good as Allan Chaney, who he feels is overrated. Chaney, of course, is the New London, Conn., forward who blew up this summer and is committed to Billy Donovan and Florida.
Rutledge is a strong, versatile forward who sounds an awful lot skill-wise like DeSean White. Brooks is a long, thin 6-8 kid who shoots with range and runs really well. URI and LaSalle, among other schools, like Brooks an awful lot.
Speaking of the Rams, the fact that the school refuses to update its web site and BKB roster hurt my math skills. The Rams will have 13 scholarships available in 2008-09, up from 12 the last few years because of Jim Harrick's tricks that landed the program on probation. Rhody has either 9 or 10 players on scholarship for `08-09, counting UConn transfer Ben Eaves and New Jersey big man Will Martell. Neither of those players is listed on the Rhody web site and neither is Johann Mpondo, another player who may/may not be in Kingston when school starts next week.
So how many players can the Rams sign this fall? My experience tells me as many as they like. These numbers games seem to work themselves out. Four new recruits are a minimum and Jim Baron has four verbals (Mejia, Hagarty, Dezouvre, Wilson) in hand. But a little birdie tells me the coaching staff is planning on getting AT LEAST one more recruit for this fall if everything breaks right.

So are you saying that they have the capability of also being "overrated".
