Photo: Witch Hazel

Chris Strand
A variety of Witch Hazel photographed by Chris Strand, director of Green Spring Gardens in Alexandria, Va., during a trip abroad. The plans are to develop plants for domestic use
1. Any of several deciduous shrubs or small trees of the genus Hamamelis, especially H. virginiana, of eastern North America, having yellow flowers that bloom in late autumn or winter.
2. An alcoholic solution containing an extract of the bark and leaves of this plant, applied externally as a mild astringent.

What a beauty!
They smell delicious too.
I'm not sure what this variety is. Maybe Jelena?
They have a large collection at Arnold Arboretum, outside Boston.
