Fall color won't wait

Seeing this story in Britain's Telegraph newspaper reminded me of something I saw this weekend in our little corner of paradise.

On the drive up to Brimfield over the weekend for the antiques/flea market, my mom and I noticed a lot of fall color along the roadside on the Mass Turnpike.

Not just drought-brown grass and leaves, but red and gold maples and sumacs. Set your peeper-timers to pop early this year.

I love New England, but the signs another New England winter is in the offing always set off a slight panic response with me.

Enjoy the pleasant weather while it lasts! (OK. Not today's. The rest of the week's though.)
