DETROIT -- Ford's U.S. sales dropped 12 percent but Toyota's sales edged up 3 percent in April as high gas prices accelerated consumers' rush away from trucks and sport utility vehicles, according to the Associated Press.
A downward pattern was expected throughout the industry as gas prices rose to record highs. Other automakers were scheduled to report their monthly sales later today.
Ford said its SUV sales were down 36 percent in April compared with the same month last year. Car sales were down only 1 percent, buoyed by sales of the Ford Focus small car, which saw a 44 percent jump in sales.
Toyota said its car sales rose 12 percent, largely on the strength of the subcompact Yaris, which saw sales rise 46 percent and the hybrid Prius, which was up 54 percent. Toyota's truck and SUV sales dropped 8 percent.

I went out of my was to post a comment regarding Ford Motor Company. My husband and I both had fords a Expedition truck and a Ford Mustang. The ford Mustang's engine went out 2 we paid out of our pocket due to the silent recall that unfortunatly we never received and got no assistance to reimburse us. Our ford Expedition Ernie Bauer Edition burn down our garage and almost our entire house and ford never said a thing and when I went online is was documented all over the world. I call the NTSB and complained and sent in photos of our house and car, we were fortunate that it happen in the daytime I couldn't even imagine if it were at night when our entire family was sleep. Throughout all of this Ford never stepped up to the plate as usual (remember the issuse with the rollover and tire issues). I will never in my life ever purchase a ford and I try my best to deter anyone else. I just don't get it they only think of today if they would have treated it's customers right they would have always purchased a ford because we've have had several fords prior to that. But never again would I ever purchase a Ford NEVER in my lifetime......They never back their product so who in the world would ever do business with them....Not me and anyone in my family and when I have grandkids they won't either forever so this is why they are doing so bad not because of the gas it's the Costomer Service....

What are you, 12? I suspect if you learned English you might have a better chance of fixing your problems. The NTSB doesn't handle incidents such as yours, perhaps you should have called your insurance company?
