| Toyota hits bumps on road to No. 1 »
November 21, 2007
TOKYO — An employee at a California plant run jointly by General Motors and Toyota is accusing her managers of allowing serious defects to go unchecked, including faulty seat belts and braking, and retaliating when she resisted, according to a lawsuit filed earlier this month, according to USA Today.
In the case before Alameda County Superior Court in California, Katy Cameron, a certified auditor who has worked for 23 years at New United Motor Manufacturing, says management routinely deleted or downgraded defects from her reports on vehicles since 2005.

I am not surprised by this revelation. For the past six years, some entity (supposedly not connected to Toyota) has been harassing and defaming me as I speak out about Toyota engine oil sludge.
It was reported by this entity that I was the one spreading the hoax about the sludge condition. In fact, many lawsuits have been filed. I have connected with hundreds of Toyota owners who confirm major engine problems in the wake of proper maintenance.
Cover ups at Toyota? Deception of the buying public? Fraud? If you ask the 2,000+ owners who have signed my online petition, they will affirm that something is not right at Toyota! What is happening at the expense of the individual Toyota vehicle owners is unconscionable!
Thank you to ALL honest Toyota employees who come forward with the truth. As one who has to endure the unpleasant condition of company backlash (even had a technician at Toyota say I had "an ax to grind with Toyota"), I empathize totally with this Toyota employee! It isn't easy speaking out. Thousands of Toyota customers feel this company is putting everything it has got into keeping the exposure of its vehicle problems to a minimum.
Bottom line...what the buying public does not know can truly hurt them. Connect with other vehicle owners to make sure you know the truth!

Toyota Owners Unite for Resolution: Engine Oil Sludge

Hold on there Charlene Blame!
Leave us not forget the plant you're pinning Toyota to the wall on is a Joint Venture with TWO players!!
So why aren't you laying some of your malicious and contemptuous claims for all ills here on GM too??
Not only that, but there's a lot more to say on your single minded crusade about sludge.
You aren't being fair nor are you being honest in your remarks.
The real causes of the Toyota specific issue are still unknown, and there has been a tremendous amount of speculation about it over the years.
The Toyota situation still hasn't been diagnosed, and many pro and con reasons have been dabated over the years.
Furthermore, the sludge issue occurred in many other makes--some of them with a far greater frequency than Toyota!
They certainly weren't alone in that situation.
I disagree with your narrow focussed assessment of the sludge problem.
You blame Toyota exclusively, where in fact the issue is a complex one with any number of possibilities, and is a problem ALL automakers have had.
Your frequent appearances on the net are characterized by generalities appear to be thinly veiled attempts geared only to raise alarm.
When pressed for facts and verification, you craftily avoid these challenges, and when you do respond, it's always with more alarmist rhetoric.
The absence of factual and verifiable evidence in any of your remarks is conspicuous; it certainly doesn't point to credibility.
While I hesitate to use the term 'lies' in describing much of the rhetoric she liberally dispenses, I must say it seems she does take some pretty wild liberties with the truth!!
