New supermarket to open at Quonset

Dave’s Marketplace, a locally owned and managed supermarket, will open a store in the Quonset Gateway in North Kingstown.

The 23,000 square foot Dave’s Marketplace will be built into the retail space of the mixed use Gateway project which, when completed, will have a mixture of office space, research and development space, pedestrian walkways, parks, restaurants, a hotel and retail amenities for the Quonset Business Park and surrounding community.

The project is being developed by New Boston Development Partners.

“The Quonset Gateway is a perfect fit for a new Dave’s Marketplace,” said Bob Fabiano, Director of Store Development, Dave’s Marketplace. “The new market will mirror our stores located in Wickford and East Greenwich with great fresh produce and seafood, a butcher shop, baked goods, and, of course prepared foods made in our own kitchen, including our homemade Dave’s on the Go meals.”

Construction is already underway on the first phase of the 72.5 acre Gateway project at the entryway to the Quonset Business Park.

During the construction phase the Gateway will create 1,060 construction jobs. At full build-out the development is projected to create 2,165 jobs, the majority of which will be office jobs
