About 25 members of the World Affairs Council of Rhode Island gathered at the Hope Club in Providence this morning to hear a presentation, "Unlocking the Latino Consumer and Business Markets: What's Really on the Other Side of the Door and How to Get In." Sixcia Devine, president of HDSC LLC and Providence regional director of the Small Business center at Johnson & Wales, told the group that the Latino market is the fastest growing in Rhode Island and the United States. A Rhode Island business that wants to sell into that market needs a targeted campaign that recognizes the language and culturtal differences of the Latino market. Devine also explained the types of print and electronic media that best reaches Latino consumers. |
