Global Partners LP, based in Waltham, Mass., has opened a new distillate and biofuels terminal that will store 244,000 barrels of refined petroleum products at the Port of Providence.
Global, a wholesale distributor in the Northeast, said the terminal is part of its deepwater marine project at the port.
"The Port of Providence serves the energy needs of residents and businesses throughout Rhode Island as well as southeastern and central Massachusetts," said Eric Slifka, Global's president and chief executive officer, in a statement.
