FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Bartolo Colon threw another bullpen session this morning, lasting 41 pitches and about 10 minutes.
Afterward, pitching coach John Farrell announced that Colon would throw another side session Friday, then throw live batting practice either Sunday or Monday, with the aim of making his game debut on March 15.
''We felt like today he showed a little better arm speed,'' said Farrell. ``It was another positive step. A few pitches had a little extra life through the zone.''
Farrell said the Sox continue to be ``pleasantly surprised'' about how Colon has looked since joining the Sox and praised his efforts to improve his conditioning. Colon has been working out twice daily with strength and conditioning coach Dave Page.
Colon is scheduled to speak to the media later this morning.
