Buehrle to Boston?

The Chicago Sun Times is reporting that the Red Sox are the front runners to land Mark Buehrle via a trade with the White Sox.

Clay Bucholtz, right now, would do more to upgrade the Sox pitching staff than Mark Beuhrle.

Sounds like Buehrle could be a nice piece to the puzzle for the right price if he is able to be signed to a long term deal. If not he isn't worth price of Sox top prospects for only 3 months.
Article talks about sending Tavaras back to bullpen. Seems to me Wakfield who does not or hasn't ever pitched consistently sghould be odd man out. With Wakefield also comes weak hitting Mirabelli, who along with Lugo takes 2 bats out of your lineup. Sox might start thinking about looking to future for another catcher who can replace Mirabelli because I can't see that duo back next year Wakefield and Mirabelli.

If the Sox can acquire Buehrle without mortgaging the future I'm all for it. I know you have to give up something to get something, hence the Beckett/Ramirez trade, but Chicago is targeting our top prospects(Ellsbury, Lowrie, Buchholz and Bowden). With three 40 plus picthers, a revolving door at shortstop and no leadoff hitter, is it worth the risk to possibly trade for a player who you may have nothing to show for if you can't resign him at the end of the year. It's may be a few years before we'll know if these kids will be able to make an impact with the parent club, but are we willing to give up on them so soon.

Buehrle would be a HUGE addition to the Boston line up but I agree forfeiting the future isn't a great idea. Tavarez isn't pitching to bad these days. I would rather see Wakefield go to the bullpen and take Mirabelli with him.
