Sox reportedly have inside track on pitching phenomESPN's Buster Olney is reporting that the Red Sox have made the top bid for the rights to negotiate with highly touted Japanese pitcher Daisuke Matsuzaka. Olney quotes major league sources as saying that the Red Sox have bid between $38 million and $45 million to Matsuzaka's Japanese club, the Seibu Lions, for the rights to talk to the pitcher. The Lions have until Tuesday to accept or reject the bid.
