By Joe McDonald ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. _ Anytime the Red Sox played the Rays at Tropicana Field, there were always more fans from Boston than Tampa. Late this season, with the Rays en route to their first A.L. East Division title, local fans began to support their team, including Game One of the ALCS here Friday night. After one loss, however, it appears some of those same fans decided to dump their tickets because the upper deck along the third-base side is loaded with Red Sox fans. Not only are there less Rays fans here tonight, people began to leave the Trop during the ninth inning on Friday with Boston holding a 2-0 lead. That would never happen at Fenway Park. |
