TORONTO _ Not much going on here at the Rogers Centre this morning.
Pitcher David Pauley, who was recalled from Pawtucket on Saturday to replace David Aardsma (groin), has arrived. Pauley is 14-4 with a 3.55 ERA in 25 starts for the PawSox this season and will be used as a long relief guy with the Sox. This is his third stint with Boston this season.
Aardsma and shortstop Julio Lugo (quad tear) have returned to Boston. Both will have a MRI on Monday.
Sox third baseman Mike Lowell (oblique) is scheduled to meet the club in New York. According to Red Sox manager Terry Francona, Lowell will speak with team doctor Tom Gill today before a decision is made. Lowell has been rehabing at home in Miami while the Red Sox have been on the road.
Right fielder J.D. Drew has missed the last six games with a herniated disk in his back. Francona said there's a possibilty Drew could be placed on the DL when the club travels to New York.
