Outfielder Manny Ramirez, who asked out of the lineup for the second straight game earlier today, left the ballpark before gametime and underwent an MRI on his right knee.
Ramirez was originally in the lineup in his customary cleanup spot, but minutes after manager Terry Francona met with the media, the Sox posted a revised lineup that didn't include Ramirez.
While Francona spoke with reporters in the interview room on the second floor. Ramirez approached bench coach Brad Mills and told him that he couldn't play because of soreness in the knee.
The same injury sidelined Ramirez Wednesday in the road trip finale in Seattle.
