"Randall's entitled to his opinion"

Bill Belichick was asked this morning about some of the Redskins' complaints that New England was piling it on yesterday. At first, Belichick said he didn't know what the questioner was referring to, but when Randall Godfrey's name was brought up, Belichick had an answer.

"Randall's entitled to his opinion. If you ask him, I'm sure he'll give it to you."

As reported by nbcsports.com after the game, Washington linebacker Godfrey confronted Belichick on the field after the final gun, and told him he was disrespecting the game by running up the score. And as blog reader Mike points out, Godfrey had a grand total of one tackle in the game...

Hey Shalise! Love your blog.

I'm hoping that we can convince BB to light up a victory cigar DURING GAMES (ala Red Aurebach)!

Imagine what reaction that would have around the league! :)
KoolAid - There's a joke among some of us that Kyle Eckel is the human victory cigar -- when he's getting carries, the wins in the bag ;o) - smy

Bill B is the greatest coach ever --and he was not running it up. By the way, Tom Brady is 2 cute!!!

Randall Godfrey. Boy, it seems after every game there is some frustrated girly-man crying out about being violated by the Patriots. Usually it's someone who had a rotten game and was exposed like Godfrey. But crying to the opposing coach, telling him how many points he's allowed to score? His team should tell him to shut up and stop embarrassing them even more. Who will next week's girly-man be when the Pats crush the Colts?

All the Pats fans are GREAT, your team can do no wrong, even when sportsmanship and class are being questioned by media and football analysts who are not biased!

What goes around comes around... this is not playground trash talk and actions, eventually teams will get their payback. All those dynasty teams in the 80's and 90's - 49ers, Cowboys, Giants and Redskins have won NOTHING since their hey days, Patriots will FALL and when they do, Watch out baby! Go Bill Belichick and Pats... (oh, a Tom Brady injury away from being a sub-500 team and coach ala Cleveland Browns days)

hahhahahha!!!!

I'm sick and tired of these big babies crying every week. This is the NFL, they're supposed to be professionals for crying out loud, grown men. This is not Pee Wee football where you feel bad for the other team. Godfrey gets paid to defend for a full game, 60 minutes, right? How would I look like if I told my boss I'm going to pack it in around 3:30 and take it easy for the rest of the day. I would get fired. Tell this guy to earn his millions and work his full schedule as required.

Wah wah wah. Whining about running up the score. OK...so I guess BB should have told his team..."OK guys, start slacking off, give 50% now not 100%". Gimme a break. Sure he could put the 2nd stringers in sooner, but just because you're playing a team that's not doing well should you have to penalize both your team and individual statistics?? If stats don't mean anything to the game, then why is there so much focus on the stats in the media?
And going for the TD on 4th instead of a FG?? Hey...it's real life, real game. Play it! If they missed the TD then it didn't matter much to the score, but by going for it they get real game experience in a situation that might be critical in the future.
These Pat's rock and I wish them a healthy championship season! Cya in AZ!
