Meriweather signing official
The Patriots have just announced that first-round draft pick Brandon Meriweather has signed a contract with the team.
The terms of the deal are not yet known, but it is believed to be a five-year deal, the maximum allowed for later first round picks.
Meriweather should make his debut in this afternoon's practice session. A hamstring injury kept him off the field for June mini-camp.
Practice today is closed to the public due to a country music festival going on at Gillette.

Hey shalise.....keep up the good work, we enjoy reading your blog!
Can you try to let us know about the actual situations that you see when BB puts them through the situational football drills??
Can you also try to find out how good our rookies are grading out, in particular Oscar Lua.
thanks
Frank -- I'll try to keep you updated as best I can. I know Lua is an underdog and therefore a fan favorite. Today when the first and second teams were working 11-on-11 drills, he was with the rest of the team -- the offense was run by Matt Gutierrez -- on the other field. I was paying attention much more to the starters at the time. But tomorrow morning I'll keep an eye on Oscar. thanks for reading! - shalise
