Pats pick Oldenburg at 171
New England added an offensive lineman with the 171st pick, taking Colorado State tackle Clint Oldenburg.
Oldenburg isn't even listed on nfl.com's extensive list of prospect profiles, but he's 6-foot-5, 297 pounds and a former tight end. According to scout.com, he's a prospect who needs to improve his mechanics.

That's because all the info that goes on NFL.com is done by sports writers and analyzers, not COACHES! As usual they "ALL" had their heads where they shouldn't have been! The 3 time Superbowl champs, don't just take anybody to fill a draft spot, especially in the 5th round!! The Pats coaching and scouting staff obviously saw something there the sports yahoos didn't, and that's the opinion that I'd go by and believe!!
I've known Oldenburg for 11 years! He is a very versatile, smart, athletic and aggressive football player! He has played Tight End, Guard and Tackle on the OL and readily adapted to those positions, without any trouble at all! He is beyond a doubt a "TEAM" player and will work extra hard to ensure he is mentally and physically ready to play!!
He "IS" a good choice for the Pats OL, and to eventually become a part of their fine organization!!
